## AI in Healthcare

Huma can revolutionise healthcare and promote proactive patient engagement and accessibility, to relieve overburdened healthcare systems. More than 18 million GP appointments and 2.1 million visits to A&E are for self-treatable conditions, costing the [NHS](https://www.nhs.uk/) more than £850 million a year. [myGP](https://www.mygp.com/)'s skin scanner, powered by [AUTODERM](https://landing.autoderm.ai/en)’s AI technology, is a great example of how iPlato Healthcare harnesses emerging technology to provide innovative solutions to streamline healthcare and increase efficiency. Huma is collaborating with its partners to launch a study to record a variety of continuous physiological measures such as respiratory rate, heart rate, O2, sleep metrics, and activity from patients with COPD. Huma’s scientists will collate this data to develop an AI Model that learns an individual’s baseline and then monitors for deviations that may signify imminent deterioration, enabling early intervention to ameliorate exacerbations.

## How do we support patients?

Through our app, patients access a care plan configured for their needs by clinicians using a library of modules and features. Patients can feel reassured that their clinicians are monitoring them using real-time data visualisation. Our platform can also deliver targeted educational content, empowering patients to better track and manage their health.

## How do we support healthcare professionals?

We support clinical decision-making by providing care teams with real-time visibility of patient data through a web-based portal. The portal features threshold-based flagging systems, trend visualisation and telemedicine for direct communication.

Clinicians can export data from the web-based portal in multiple formats. The care team portal can also connect with electronic health systems or data registries to enable automatic export based on set timeframes.
